Libra Rent a Car – Welcome to Libra Rent a Car!

In order to ensure that your vehicle rental experience is pleasant, safe, and free from unpleasant surprises, please carefully read our detailed rental terms and conditions. These terms are designed to ensure that all our clients have clear guidelines on the rules and responsibilities during the rental period.

  1. Required Documents for Rental

For a successful vehicle rental, customers must provide the following documents:

  • ID card or passport: Basic proof of identity.
  • Driver’s license: Drivers must have a valid license issued at least 2 years before the rental date. The license must be in Latin script or translated into English for foreign nationals.
  • Credit card: A credit card is required for the deposit (debit cards are not accepted). The deposit will be blocked on the card and will be refunded in full if the vehicle is returned in proper condition, without damages or fines.

Note: If the renter does not have the required documents in their name, the rental cannot proceed.

  1. Age and Driving Experience Requirements
  • Minimum age for rental: 21 years old.
  • Minimum 2 years of driving experience: Drivers under the age of 25 may be subject to additional insurance charges.
  • Older drivers: Drivers over the age of 70 may need to provide a medical certificate confirming their ability to drive.

Note: A Young Driver Fee applies to drivers under 25 years old.

  1. Vehicle Insurance

Each rented vehicle includes basic insurance. To increase security and reduce personal liability in the event of an accident, you can opt for additional insurance options:

  • CDW (Collision Damage Waiver): Covers damage to the vehicle due to accidents or collisions, with a deductible depending on the vehicle type.
  • Super CDW: Reduces the deductible to a minimum or completely eliminates liability for damage (depending on the terms).
  • TP (Theft Protection): Insurance against theft, covering damage in case of vehicle theft, with a deductible.
  • PAI (Personal Accident Insurance): Insurance for the driver and passengers, covering medical expenses in the event of an accident.

Note: Without additional insurance, the customer is responsible for the full amount of vehicle damage or theft.

  1. Fuel Policy
  • Full tank policy: The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank.
  • Non-refundable fuel policy: If the customer returns the vehicle without a full tank, the full cost of the fuel and refueling service will be charged.

Note: There is no refund for unused fuel.

  1. Cancellation and Modification Policy

For cancellations or modifications of your reservation, the following terms apply:

  • Cancellation 24 hours before the start of the reservation, no refund.

For changes to dates or vehicle type, please contact us as soon as possible to ensure we provide you with the most suitable vehicle.

  1. Vehicle Pickup and Return
  • Vehicle Pickup: The vehicle can be picked up at our location at Ul. od Svetog Mihajla 3, Dubrovnik, or at an agreed location within Dubrovnik (vehicle delivery to a different location may incur additional charges).
  • Vehicle Return: The vehicle must be returned to the same location, at the agreed time, with a full tank of fuel.
  • Out-of-hours pickup and return: If you wish to pick up or return the vehicle outside of working hours, please notify us in advance. Additional fees may apply.
  • Pickup and return at a different location: Pickup and return are only possible within the city of Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik Airport. For this service, please contact us in advance by email, and additional charges will apply.
  1. Vehicle Maintenance and Customer Responsibility
  • Technical condition: Vehicles are issued in good technical condition. In case of any problems or breakdowns, please notify us immediately. The customer is responsible for accidents and repairs that are not caused by normal use.
  • Maintenance: The customer is responsible for basic vehicle maintenance, including checking oil level, coolant, and tire pressure. If any defects occur due to negligence, the repair cost will be charged to the customer.
  • Fines and violations: All traffic violations and fines (speeding, non-compliance with traffic regulations, parking in restricted areas) are the responsibility of the customer. Libra Rent a Car reserves the right to charge all fees that we incur due to violations committed during the vehicle rental.
  1. Vehicle Usage
  • Geographical restrictions: The vehicle is only allowed for use within the Republic of Croatia, unless previously agreed and specially approved for use outside the country.
  • Prohibited use: The vehicle must not be used for illegal purposes, racing, or carrying dangerous materials. It is also prohibited to transport more passengers than allowed for the specific vehicle model.
  • Authorized drivers: The vehicle may only be driven by persons listed in the rental agreement. Any change of driver during the rental must be reported in advance.
  1. Fees and Deposits
  • Deposit: A deposit is required for each vehicle rental via credit card. The deposit amount depends on the vehicle type and insurance conditions. The deposit is blocked on the card and released after the vehicle is returned in proper condition.
  • Additional fees: Fees for late returns, additional drivers, vehicle delivery to another location, or other special services may apply as agreed.
  1. Roadside Assistance and Emergency Situations
  • Roadside Assistance: Our 24/7 roadside assistance is available in case of accidents, breakdowns, or any other issues. In the event of an accident, it is mandatory to notify the police and provide the accident report.
  • Damage or loss of the vehicle: If the vehicle is damaged or lost, the customer must immediately notify our roadside assistance service and follow the instructions provided.
  1. Payment

Payment can be made by the following methods:

  • Cash and card on-site: If you choose the “cash payment” option, please have your card available when picking up the vehicle.
  • Card payment via website: The reservation is considered confirmed only after the full payment is made.
